ln 1986, Michel Montignac published his first book on the revolutionary dietary method that was later to bear his name.

Based on medical discoveries made in the United States during the previous decade, the Montignac Method challenged traditional dietary wisdom with the bold claim that to be healthy and to jase weight we do not have to starve ourselves. All we have to do is follow a nutritionally balanced diet that excludes saturated fats and carbohydrates with a high glycaemic index.

Two years later, Michel Montignac published his second book Eat Yourself Slim, aimed at a more general audience. It rapidly became an international bestseller, attracting the interest of the medical profession around the world.

Since then, there have been many independent medical studies conducted by eminent medical researchers like Prof. Willett of Harvard University and Prof. Dumesnil of Laval University - Quebec. These studies have confirmed, either directly or indirectly, the validity and effectiveness of the Montignac Method in helping us lose weight and combat conditions as varied as fatigue and cardiovascular disease.

Whereas calorie controlled diets cannot be sustained indefinitely without undermining our health, the Montignac Method offers a nutritional regime with a gastronomic agenda that not only helps us become slim and healthy, but makes certain we stay that way.

It is to this long term aspect of his dietary method that Michel Montignac now turns his attention, helping us to evolve a regime that gives us maximum freedom of choice whilst keeping closely to the fundamental principles of the Montignac Method. At the saine time, he takes the opportunity of including a lot of new material to ensure the original message of Eat Yourself Slim remains totally up to date.

Completely rewritten, this new book fat Yourself Slim...and Star Slim! must surely appeal to the seasoned Montignac follower and neophyte alike.
